GaMler-Interview mit dem Besuch aus Tansania

Unsere Redakteurin Theresa hat für uns ein Interview mit Sister Elistaha Mlay, der Schulleiterin unserer Partnerschule in Moshi (Tansania) geführt. Sie besuchte mit zwei Schülern und einem Lehrer unserer Partnerschule für zwei Wochen das GaM. Insgesamt hat sie 4 Geschwister und die sind auf der ganzen Welt verstreut. Ihre Mutter verstarb bereits, als sie 14 Jahre alt war, ihr Vater lebt noch. In ihrem ganzen Leben hat sie erst einmal Schnee gesehen, und das in Süddeutschland. Den Sommer mag sie aber lieber.

 

Theresa: Is it the first time, you stay in Germany?

Sr. E. Mlay: No, it’s my third time.

Theresa: What do you like most in Bad Schwartau?

Sr. E. Mlay: I really like the jam and the people are nice, too!

Theresa: Can you say something in German?

Sr. E. Mlay: Guten Tag, eine Tasse, Kindergarten, Ich heiße Schwester, Krankenhaus.

Theresa: Which subjects do you teach?

Sr. E. Mlay: Now I teach English and business.

Theresa: How old are the students in your school?

Sr. E. Mlay: They are between 12 and 20 years.

Theresa: What do you mean is a typical German characteristic?

Sr. E. Mlay: People like holidays!

Theresa: What is your favorite German food?

Sr. E. Mlay: I like fruits, above all strawberries.

Theresa: What’s your favorite African food?

Sr. E. Mlay: I like cooked bananas and green bananas.

Theresa: Are you interested in football?

Sr. E. Mlay: Yes, very much! My favorite team is Brazil.

Theresa: Who will win the world cup in South Africa?

Sr. E. Mlay: Maybe Brazil or Germany[1].

Theresa: What is a typical African characteristic? What do you think?

Sr. E. Mlay: I think the most typical African characteristic are the family orientated people.

Theresa: Has your name a special meaning?

Sr. E. Mlay: Eli = God
Stana = honour
Elistaha = God’s honour
